Abstract: We propose a theoretical model of the spread of avian influenza in poultry. The spatial spread as a diffusive process, where only susceptible chickens can move, is incorlporated, It is shown that an analytical solution can be obtained in the form of a travelling wave solution. We outline the methodology for finding the analytical solutions using the travelling wave coordinate in which the wave is assumed to move with a constant speed.
